Sangsar(Persian: سَنگسَر) is a city situated in the Semnān Province of Iran on the southern slopes of the Alborz mountains, the administrative centre Mehdishehr county. In the northern part it has a common boundary with Mazandaran Province. Here, the chain of Alborz Mountains is very close to the desert of Dasht-e Kavir. Iran calls its people the purest form of the Aryan race.

Sangesar, specially the northern part of it, is completely mountainous with cold winters, heavy snowfalls but with mild summers.

The area of the county is about 1100 square kilometers. The distance between Sangsar city and Semnan city is 20 kilometers. The altitude is about 1630 meters above sea level.

The primary religious belief in the area now is Shi‘ite Islam, but before the Islamic Revolution, there were also a great number of Bahá'ís in Sangsar, who had to migrate from the city after the revolution, due to a wide range of persecutions.

The most important network of roads consists of Semnan to Sangsar to Shahmirzad to Fooladmahale axis which connects these places with the city of Sari. This road connects the two provinces of Mazandaran and Semnan.

The criminal court sentenced:

The criminal court sentenced the Mr. Kiani and Mrs.Ebrahimi to death by stoning on charges of adultery which Unfortunately Mr. Kiani was stoned to death in a small village although Iran's head of the judicial system intervened to suspend his sentence but Kiani's stoning was carried out last week in public by local officials and security forces and small number of villagers participated. It shows not only they don't care to people life at all also they don't care to whole world reactions to barbaric Islamic rules!

The Islamic republic of Iran’s Judiciary should immediately stop the scheduled stoning of a woman and man charged with adultery.

The criminal court sentenced the two to death by stoning on charges of adultery.

The Iranian government is about to kill a mother and father in the most brutal manner. The Judiciary must take immediate action to save the lives of these couple and end barbaric punishments such as death by stoning.

The Islamic Penal Code of Iran allows for the punishment of death by stoning for crimes of adultery.

We oppose the death penalty in all circumstances because of its inherent cruelty specially execution by stone and any other Islamic barbaric rules.

Although the head of The Islamic Republic of Iran’s Judiciary, ordered a ban on stoning in December 2002, yet this form of punishment continues and this impending executions show that the government isn’t banned on stoning.

The Islamic Republic of Iran’s government should ban this shameful practice now and forever.
